ilka

ilka is a design consultancy, specialising in research, strategy, brand identity and experiential design. They are particularly focused on sustainability – both for their own business, and in supporting organisations who share this goal – and were the first design agency in Glasgow to be a certified BCorp.

They needed a website that would be flexible and make it easy for them to showcase their portfolio of projects using a breadth of imagery and media.

Working closely with them, we designed a website based around reusable, flexible content modules, enabling ilka to quickly add videos, looping animations, screen-captures, image galleries, client testimonials, alongside text content. All these modules adhere to a consistent underlying layout structure and design style.

The design we created with ilka is simple and understated — always keeping the focus on the project design work — and combines a rigorous grid structure with playful animated flourishes. This resulted in a balanced design expressing ilka’s attention to detail and rationality, alongside their warmth and friendliness.
